Now it’s 2017, and it’s been almost four years since Mafi finished writing Ignite Me. I am beyond excited for this new release, but as a writer, I can’t help but wonder if Mafi will be able to make a smooth transition between the first three books and the new books. I first picked up Shatter Me at my local library the summer between eighth grade and my freshman year of high school, and have since read the trilogy in its entirety multiple times, along with both novellas. Mafi is also the author of Furthermore and Whichwood, which are middle school novels. Shatter Me, the first book in the series, was published in November of 2011, followed by novella Destroy Me (October 2012), sequel Unravel Me (February 2013), novella Fracture Me (December 2013), and the series’ third book Ignite Me (February 2014). Three years after the publication of the Shatter Me trilogy, bestselling author Tahereh Mafi has announced that she will be adding not one, but three new books to her series, and her fan base is currently blowing up the internet.
